Susanna Brakhman is a graduate of the famous Stolyarsky Music School in Odessa, Ukraine. She holds a Masters of Music degree from State Conservatory of Nizhni Novgorod and Special Diploma for advanced teaching courses from St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Susanna is also a trained Suzuki teacher.
Susanna has taught in the Strings and Chamber Music departments at Music College of Vladimir (Russia), and Chamber Music faculty at the Nizhni Novgorod State Conservatory (Russia). After immigrating to the United States, she taught at the Brooklyn Conservatory and the Lucy Moses Music School in NYC. On Long Island Susanna has taught Suzuki programs at both Hofstra University and Adelphi University. She has performed in numerous concerts and recitals as a soloist and as a member of various chamber groups in many cities in the former USSR and in New York State.
Susanna has a unique teaching style that blends the best of European and Russian traditions. All together, these methods combine high standards of performance with an enjoyable way to learn. Susanna places special emphasis on comfortable posture and hand positions, fostering the natural expressive abilities of students, and making the learning of music fun. Susanna is very passionate about what she does, and is incredibly dedicated to her work. She teaches all levels of experience and age groups.
Additionally, Susanna Brakhman is a certified practitioner in Japanese Energy Healing Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu and has unique abilities to work with various body imbalances and structural issues to help people become better performers.
Susanna currently maintains a private practice in Long Island, New York and also works at the Suzuki Program at LIU Post, Brookville, New York.
